Twin Gullies can be found tucked away in the top north-eastern corner of Barrys Bay, just before you dip down into Duvauchelle Bay. We are a little over an hour's drive from Christchurch. After a hilly and very scenic trip from Little River, Barrys Bay is the first bay you reach in Akaroa Harbour.

Before continuing round the bay make sure you stop at The Barrys Bay Cheese Factory. The Peninsula was once dotted with Dairy Factories and this is the only one still surviving. The most obvious landmark is Onawe Peninsula, site of a former Maori Pa and scene of a bitter inter tribal massacre 170 years ago. It projects out into the harbour like a giant tadpole.

As you leave Barrys Bay, you climb a small steep rise. Look for the Pigeon Bay - Akaroa Turn Off sign and just after that is our Twin Gullies sign. Fifty metres past the sign is our letter box. A warm welcome awaits you at the end of the driveway.

The location of Twin Gullies is ideal for anyone wanting to explore the whole Akaroa Harbour area or the whole of Banks Peninsula.
